Oxbow launches the 100% recycled boardbag

07/04/2009

Whether it’s the selection of the raw materials, the recyclability of the finished products or the optimization of the energy required to manufacture and transport the products, Oxbow and the Lafuma Group are both committed to identifying solutions that will noticeably reduce the impact of its products on the environment. A constant objective that all our design and production teams work to achieve each and every day. For the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, particular attention was paid to the selection of raw materials, based on two product lines: boardshorts, with the inclusion of recycled polyester, and t-shirts, made using organic cotton. To take our quest for products with very low environmental impact even further, Oxbow has developed a line of 100% recycled boardbags. These products are made from used kitesurf and windsurf sails that are collected by the brand's network of stores and
manufactured locally to keep transportation costs to a minimum. This experimental product line also includes luggage and wallets, and is testimony to Oxbow's commitment to working on 4 key criteria that will allow it to reduce the impact of its products on the environment:
- The selection of raw materials,
- The energy consumed to manufacture the products,
- The impact of transport,
- Product recyclability.
Offering more from less: Oxbow’s commitment to the future of our planet.
